This is a tribute to our beautiful little guy Popeye who passed away July 8, 2024 at the age of 16. Our hearts are shattered in so many ways and we are trying to work through the grief of his absence, he was truly a huge part of our family.
WE LOVE YOU SWEET BOY, BE HAPPY IN HEAVEN AND WE WILL SEE YOU SOON!
Popeye was born on Valentine's day Feb.14, 2008, in the very first litter I had as a breeder. He was a little misfit baby being born with one eye and an underbite so he could not nurse so guess this is why his mom tried taking him out her dog door into the 2 feet of snow on the ground. My son found him on the floor by the door a few hours later at 4am, luckily mom was not able to get him through the dog door. So I held the tiny 2 oz little guy thinking he was going to pass as he was so cold but with a blow dryer to warm him up quickly he came back to life so I became his mom and he changed my life forever. The love and joy and companionship this tiny dog brought us over the 16 amazing years is priceless! He was a quirky, funny, sometimes grumpy, happy little man that kept us laughing. My son named him Popeye because of his missing eye to my dismay and the name stuck and I am so glad it did because it was the perfect name for him! He started out life living in a little box next to my bed with a warmer and would wake me up every few hours to be bottle fed, then finally graduated to sleeping with us which he did every night of his life...this is part of why we miss him so terribly, that little guy next to us all night was the best!
His underbite was severe and there was no way to correct it but just added to him being such a one of a kind so he always looked like he had a smile on his face.
He has a black toy monkey that he loved and to this day still has it, worn out but that was his baby. He loved eating especially things like canned pears, canned green beans, watermelon and Arbys along of course with good dog food.
So many memories, so much joy and love, Popeye we will never forget you and you are in our hearts forever until we meet again.

This is a video of little Ebony, she is 18 weeks old and has ended up being a teacup so too little to be a mom so she is available. Super sweet, happy personality, smart and funny she is going to make someone an amazing companion! She is all black except for a little patch of white on her shoulder, darling girl!
